Pinewood Derby

The 2012 Pinewood Derby will be held at the Sussex Fire House on Sunday, April 22nd.

Leaders should arrive at 10:00 am to help with setup.
Cub Scouts should arrive early enough to weigh in prior to the starting times for their races.

Webelos : Weigh-in at 11:30 am, races start at 12:00 pm
Bears : Weigh-in at 12:00 pm, races start at 12:30 pm
Wolves : Weigh-in at 12:30 pm, races start at 1:00 pm
Tigers : Weigh-in at 1:00 pm, races start at 1:30 pm

Semi-finals and finals will begin tentatively at 2:00 pm

Blue & Gold

The annual Blue and Gold will be held at the Sussex Fire House starting at 2PM on Sunday, February 12th.

Some Upcoming Events

The Sussex District PPBSA Winter “Carnival” is on Sunday, Jan 8 at the Andover Boro Park. Pack 84 needs adult volunteers to help with parking. More details will be available at the December Pack Meeting.

Pack 84 will be attending Scout Days Skiing/Snowboarding at Mountain Creek on Saturday, Jan 28. Click on the link for more details.

Cub Scout Nature Day

Cub Scout Nature Day is on September 17 at the Winnebago Scout Reservation in Rockaway, NJ.

Bring the whole family for a fun filled day of conservation and nature based activities.

Check-in will start at 9:00 AM and activities will commence at 10:00 AM rain or shine. Most activities are held under pavilions.

Family fishing is also available in the fishing area. Bring your own rod, reel and bait.

Registration before September 1st is $5 per person for youth and adult. Children under 5 are free. After September 1st the fee is $8 per person, again with children under 5 being free.

Lunch will also be available for a nominal fee.

Pack 84 Stokes Summer Family Camporee

The Pack 84 Stokes Summer Family Camporee will run from July 15th-17th. Check in starts at 3 PM Friday and check out must be no later than 11 AM Sunday.

The cost is $5 per person per day with a maximum cost of $10 per person for the entire weekend.

Payment MUST be in by June 1st.

The Pack campsite is Haskings Group Site 1. There are shower and bathroom facilities adjacent to the campsite.

The Pack will provide Saturday breakfast and dinner as well as Sunday breakfast. You will be responsible for lunch on Saturday. Hot dogs with chips will be served Friday evening during setup.

All food items need to be stored in your vehicle.

If you have never camped before this is the perfect opportunity for first timers as many experienced campers will be available to help you.

Day trippers are always welcome. Please try to arrive early on Saturday and plan to stay past dark to enjoy all the activities and our Saturday night Skits and Smore’s Campfire.

Please notify your Den Leader of any food allergies or medical issues.

Last year’s activities included an organized hike, geocaching, water ballon bungee catch, whittling chip course and much more. Please pack and plan appropriately for these activities again.
